Dr. Helma de Vries

My name is Dr. Helma de Vries-Jordan. I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science and the Director of the History and Political Science Program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.  I study activism and protest behavior internationally by conducting surveys of demonstrators, interviews with activists and organizers, narrative analysis of media coverage of protest events, as well as event based data analysis of protest events. My research is focused on marriage equality and LGBT activism. In addition, I have conducted research on the global justice, anti-war, and Occupy Wall Street movements.
